In the month of March, I completed reading four books (one more than last month, that’s a little better!).
Off topic of the bookish wrap up subjects for the next two paragraphs.
I would have loved to have read more books but over March I focused most of my attention on training for the London Landmarks Half Marathon. My sister, my sister’s sister-in-law and I took part in this half marathon to raise money for Tommy’s Charity. Our finishing race times are as follows:
- My sister’s sister-in-law (Julez, who came all the way over from Sydney, Australia for the week to take part and then fly back on the evening of the half marathon!) finished in 2 hours 18 minutes.
- I finished the half marathon in 2 hours 33 minutes.
- My sister finished the half marathon in 2 hours 43 minutes.
We all thoroughly enjoyed participating and raising over our targets for Tommy’s Charity and have pre-registered to do it all again for next year! You can call us crazy if you want to!
Below I have inserted a couple of photos from the day and the medal that we won!

Back to the bookish wrap up post!
The books I completed in March were:
- All That She Can See: Every Little Thing She Bakes is Magic by Carrie Hope Fletcher
- Wonder by R. J. Palacio
- Daisy Jones by Mack Mama
- Aversion: Book One by Kenechi Udogu
I gave All That She Can See: Every Little Thing She Bakes is Magic by Carrie Hope Fletcher four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really loved the concept of this novel and the message that it gets across to the readers about looking at feelings in a completely different way. I really liked the main character of the novel, Cherry and her baked goods sounded delicious! The side that let me down to this book, was the second half of the book where I became confused how the dystopian and sci-fi genres came into play. I gave Wonder by R. J. Palacio four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book needs to be read by everyone! Such an eye-opening, heart warming novel about a young boy called August “Auggie” Pullman. Auggie is looked upon differently by a lot of people as he was born with a facial difference. The book is about how Auggie learns to deal with bullies and how to be an ordinary kid in the real world, especially as he’s been homeschooled by his mum for his entire educational life but will now be attending Beecher Prep middle school! The only thing I marked down on this book was that there was no real plot to the story I could find, however I did enjoy learning about Auggie’s life from his perspective and others throughout the book. I received Daisy Jones by Mack Mama in exchange for an honest review. I gave this book two out of five stars ⭐️⭐️ Trigger warnings: sex, drugs, crime and sexual abuse. Unfortunately this book was not my cup of tea, but I did enjoy how easy it was to read and appreciate that this story hold memories of Mack Mama’s past which has lived through. I did like how she is trying to get across that the hustler life is not glamorous and can lead people down a dangerously fatal path. If you would like to read my review for this book click here.
I received Aversion: Book One by Kenechi Udogu in exchange for an honest review. I gave this book four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed the first book in the young adult, paranormal series called: The Mentalist Series. I thoroughly enjoyed the concept of this book and thought that the storyline was very refreshing and interesting compared to other books I have read in this type of genre before. The characters; Gemma Green and Russ Tanner were very likeable and I really enjoyed reading the scenes with them in, I hope there will be more a sweet romance between the two but who knows with the information you find it about them towards the end of the book! I was pulled in from the first page and hope that the rest of the series does exactly the same! If you would like to read my review for this book click here.
I started Sentient: Book Two by Kenechi Udogu yesterday and so far I’ve recapped over the events which happened previously in the first book and a new character has popped up, I hope I enjoy this book as much as I did with Aversion!
How many books in the month of March did you read? How many are you hoping to read in April? Let me know in the comments below.
