Blessing of Luna by Blaise Ramsay Book Review

Book Description (via Goodreads): Damien Pierce wasn’t like normal people. Since he was young, he learned that he had the uncanny ability to heal himself almost immediately after suffering minor injuries. At fifteen he astounded the small town of Big Timber, Montana when an SUV hit him only to find he survived the encounter without suffering any major injuries. After moving away for ten years, losing his mother and slipping into a deep sense of depression, Damien’s father moves them back home. Enter Jillian Sykes, the immortal, beautiful Lycanthrope that has been looking for the soul of her long lost lover, Lucius Wolf, who after many years of being reborn simply vanished into the tides of time. When Jill first sees Damien, she knows immediately that he is the one she had been looking for. She begins pursuing him, hoping that he would remember her as he did with each time his soul was reborn into a new body. The problem is, he has no idea who she is! When an old enemy begins re-igniting the flames of a centuries old war, Damien must come to grips with a cruel fact that he is not human while nurturing feelings for a woman he’d long tried to deny. Can Jillian and Damien hold onto their love for one another while trying to protect both sides of their families from the wrath of a very angry and vindictive god?

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I have given Blessing of Luna by Blaise Ramsay four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Warning: adult content, for 18+ only

I was drawn into this paranormal action story from the first couple of chapters. I thought the plot of this book was very engaging to the reader and managed to keep me on the edge of my seat with each twist which was thrown my way.

The characters Ramsay has created were well-developed and I enjoyed learning about them as well as connecting with some of them too. I found the main characters, Jillian Styles and Damien Pierce, were made for each other. When they meet you can tell there is a deep connection between them, although it wasn’t the sort of slow burner romance I normally like it was still enjoyable. However, in some parts of this book I did feel like Jillian was coming across to Damien a bit too strong. Overall I really enjoyed them being together. I enjoyed learning about the other Lycan and vampire characters too. I felt as though they all had a different voice in the book so it was easy to separate which character was whom without any confusion.

The world created by Ramsay was written superbly with incredible detail, I can still picture it all now; especially The Circle of Stones and Holt’s camp. There’s nothing better than when an author can conjure up a clear image of a place into the readers mind.

One part that let this book down was the grammatical errors that occurred throughout the book (although it may have just been the copy I received). The other part I thought was how slow this book was to read, there was a lack of flow when reading this story, although at times I did feel it naturally speed up when it came to an action scene.

There is a sequel to this book called Bane of Tenebris which I would love to read so I can carry on reading about this mystical world and find out what else is in store for these characters and maybe some new ones too!

I would definitely recommend this book if you’re a fan of paranormal, action and steamy romance genres.
